CALIGHT BEAR
Christian, Hongkonger, flâneuse.
Calight is a lover of literature, film and translation. She studied Comparative Literature at the University of Hong Kong and Translation Studies at the University of Sheffield. She also likes philosophy, photography and graphic design.
One of her favourite literature is Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Le Petit Prince, which has been translated into more than 250 languages and dialects all over the world since its first publication. She is now collecting different translations of the classic. Besides Le Petit Prince, she is attached to France because of cinephilia. The Lumière Brothers are the pioneers of cinema and ‘lumière’ is the French word for light. Her name Calight, coincidentally, contains the word ‘light’.
Literature and film shed light on human life. She is particularly interested in themes like human existence and suffering, alienation and estrangement as well as time and memory. She wishes to light up the world with her writing, even if it is just a glimmer.
